The mission of our facility is to provide high quality treatment services that are specific to the needs of our clients and their families.
Woniya Kini Behavioral Services is a culturally based treatment facility that provides Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug Treatment.
It is the hope and efforts of the Lower Sioux Indian Community to:

Provide Indian Country with services for Chemical and Mental Health needs
An array of services for individuals experiencing alcohol or other drug problems are offered at Woniya Kini. They include:
- Group Therapy
- Early Intervention
- Individual Counseling sessions
- Support Groups
- Information and Referral
- Rule 25 Assessments
- Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment options
- Aftercare/Follow-up
- Sweats
The services offered have a special emphasis on Native American Cultural and Spiritual Values and Beliefs and are interwoven with the Twelve Step Approach. Both the Red Road Approach and the Twelve Step Approach are implemented at Woniya Kini to ensure the clients have the best chance possible to gain and maintain long term sobriety.

Outpatient: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday- 1 p.m.- 3 p.m.

Relapse Prevention: Monday & Thursday- 1 p.m.- 3 p.m.

Aftercare: Tuesday- 4 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Adolescent Aftercare: Wednesday- 3:45 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Lower Sioux AA (in Woniya Kini group room)- Thursday- Noon
An array of services for individuals experiencing mental health problems are offered at Woniya Kini.
Referrals are made to Western Mental Health Center for:
- Diagnostic Assesments
- Medication Review
- Psychological Counseling
Access is provided for traditional cultural and spiritual leaders to facilitate healing and leadership through:
- Educational Groups
- Individual Grief Counseling
- Sweat Lodge and Other Ceremonies
The Mental Health Coordinator also works in collaboration with area social services, medical agencies, and tribal programs to provide comprehensive services which include:
- Individual Counseling
- Case Management
- Medical Referrals
- Assist with Mental Health & Chemical Dependency Commitments
- Group Counseling
